Day 1. Arrive Llangollen

Arrive in Llangollen ready to check in to your hotel from 15:00. Your long stay car parking permit will be shared with you upon check-in. If you require transfers from the airport, train station or ferry port, please do contact us to make arrangements prior to travelling. Relax for the afternoon and take a stroll around Llangollen’s pretty town centre. Or enjoy the rooftop hot tub at your hotel, which is free for guests before 6pm. Enjoy a free evening to get ready for your adventures to begin tomorrow!

Day 2. Canyoning

Get set to go canyoning! Climb, scramble, jump and splash your way through the challenging terrain of the Trawsfynedd gorge for a truly fun but physically demanding experience. It’s a full day out with your travel group in a stunning part of North Wales – enjoy the views as together you abseil down waterfalls and leap from rocks into the river below! This evening we host dinner for you and your group in a local restaurant. How better to get to know each other better than reflecting on today’s memories, while enjoying locally produced food and a few Welsh beers.

Day 3: River bugging

After the physical activity of canyoning and the fun of last night you can enjoy a more relaxed start to your day. Use your free morning to explore more of Llangollen and the surrounding area. If you’re feeling energetic, we highly recommend the hike up to Dinas Bran, a 13th Century castle perched high above the town on the site of an Iron Age hill fort. Be back in town for 12.30 for the crazy sport of river bugging! Pull on your wetsuit, jump on your bug and paddle off down the beautiful River Dee. Charging headfirst through rapids will really get your adrenaline pumping. Then kick back and relax, watching the wildlife along the riverbank, before you hold on tight for the next rapids! Enjoy maximum adventure and a unique experience to remember.

Day 4: Packrafting & wild camping

Pack your bags, we’re going packrafting! You’ll spend today hiking and paddling across the stunning Snowdonia National Park. And tonight you’ll be wild camping under the stars. With a pack-away raft on your back, along with snacks and other essentials, your guide will take you down less-trodden routes through dramatic landscapes and picturesque villages. In the evening you’ll cook together around an open campfire. Our local guide showing you how to prepare your meal so you can really get stuck in to cooking in the great outdoors. Chat the night away, sharing stories around the fire before retiring for a night under canvas. We provide large bell tents on a shared basis (up to 6 per tent), so you don’t have the hassle of bringing a tent with you. We’ll even take your overnight bag to the camp for you, so you don’t have to carry it on your hike / packraft. What better way to truly experience the great outdoors than relaxing under the stars of a Dark Sky Reserve, enjoying a hot chocolate with new friends.

Day 5: Depart

After a light breakfast, it’s time to pack away your kit and make your way back home. After four days of exhilarating adventures and a back-to-basics night in nature, you’ll have appeased your inner adventurer. For a little while at least!
